My mother doesn’t want to vaccinate and tells me about all the pressure she is getting from various people in her life. I told her they are only doing it because they want to travel. When the restrictions are gone, they won’t care much if she’s vaccinated or not. There really aren’t any Australians left. Just a bunch of people living closer to one another than they’d ideally like.
For what it’s worth, hold the line. The travel/freedoms are retards and mainly also doing it because they fear social disapproval more than anything else.
I don’t give a fuck. This is my hill and the future they want for us is not worth living in. Lived in a communist country and that’s where they want to take us with a digital slant. No thanks not for me or my kids.

Looks like we’re heading to a lockout scenario for non-vaccinated people. Just like the handwritten recording of contact details, I’m sure there will be provisions for paper hard copies. I expect they will allow proof of a recent negative Covid test for those unable to be vaccinated.
Of course, it only works on the assumption that those working in retail and hospitality have the stomach to check for these things. We’re already hearing stories of staff being abused for wanting to do QR check-ins and businesses complaining about increased security requirements.

I’m thinking the passport won’t being an issue for too long… once the restrictions come down and case numbers explode among the vaccinated, and it becomes quickly apparent that the unvaccinated aren’t the transmission problem, I expect the narrative to quickly shift focus as the outrage moves to our crumbling health system.
The case numbers are not the politics. It is the hospitalisations. If vaccines reduce hospitalisations then it also reduces the potential need of lockdowns to avoid overflowing hospitals. If there is an economic benefit to be had then don’t underestimate the government’s resolve.
I will also make it clear that I don’t agree with forced vaccinations. I just think it is a bit ridiculous that some people on here think they are more rugged and manly than people like Coming who has been forced into vaccination to keep his job. The government is more than capable of making everyone compliant if they really want to.

At work (country NSW) anyone who has flu like symptoms has to go get a Covid test and then if neg can come back to work.
One of my older workers went to get a test because he felt unwell, when he got there they asked for he’s mobile phone number. When he told them he did not own one they were dumbfounded and did not know what to do as they had nothing setup. They ended up writing down he’s landline and off he went home to wait for the results.
3 days later after hearing nothing he went back down to find out what was going on. After waiting for a couple of hours, they told him he was neg. No paperwork was handed over to him as proof. I know it’s a very small sample, but I reckon it could be way more wide spread.

This is interesting because like we all know, as soon as you have a mobile you are already easily trackable. People are worried about vaccine passports but we are already covertly at the end game.
How many people don’t own a mobile and how hard is it to not own one in the modern day? Not many. Our phones/internet are the gateway to tracking and social credit scores. As I mentioned below, this will continue for a while and I expect vaccine passports to be a thing or a discussion for at least the next 6 months (“too long”)…. basically until the US moves into winter and delta explodes there too among the already vaccinated.
Basically if you are unvaccinated and determined to stay that way then you’re probably looking at a 6-12mth period of potentially being inconvenienced, until the narrative shifts and the primary COVID waves in Australia pass.
As long as anyone remains unvaxed the narrative will be that they are the transmission vector, even if the hospitals are full of vaxxed people. Reality left the building long ago.

I find the Digital Citizen ID comment a little naive. The US has had two revolutions in the 400 odd years since the Mayflower landed in in Maryland. The first was the American revolution in 1765 and the second being the US civil war of 1861. So statistically the US has 0.5% chance of having a revolution in any given year.
If you were to ask what is the chance that they will have a revolution next year it is 1/2 of 1%, however, if you asked back in 1861 what is the chance that the US will have another revolution by 2030 then statistically there is a 57% chance that the US will experience a revolution at some point in that time frame.
Of course, statistics falls apart when the sample size gets too small.
We must be approaching a fairly high likelihood of another dismissal by the GG by now.
I wouldn’t rely on my statistics – I was just making a point that even though you’d think the of something happening at any given point in time, cumulatively over enough time the likelihood rises to a good chance of it happening.
Personally though I’d rate the chances of a revolution or civil war in any year to happen in the US now as being much higher than 0.5%. The previous two occurrences of it occurred in a nation that was far more ethnically and culturally homogenous with a much more unified outlook, than the nation that calls itself America today.
As for Australia…. well the rate Scomo is building sufficient anger in the community that it threatens to overcome the electorates reluctance to elect Labor, we could well have another Labor party Govt following the next election – surely that would increase the chances of another dismissal?
I’d say that makes it more likely. In the fractured landscape of today no group will be big enough to get beyond being described as a terror organisation and would simply be crushed. Divide and conquer works.
Maybe – but that is assuming it starts as a terror organisation and doesn’t cascade from something like another secessionist movement or dispute between a collection of states and the Federal Govt like their last civil war.
Regardless though, the level of tyranny and oppression is likely to continue significantly increase in the meantime, because as you point out, that is what is necessary to hold dividend, fractured communities that exist as little more than MultiCult economic zones together… especially when they start failing to deliver what societies are meant to deliver, solutions to the common “economic problem.”
That’s always been my main issue with this pursuit of diversity for diversities sake alone – the semblance of stability that these MultiCult nations we now have in the West are entirely dependent on the economic abundance that the energy revolution of the 20th century delivered to them.
As we slide down the other side of the resource abundance curve in the years ahead, it will be increasingly difficult to meet all the different collective needs of the various communities that are now housed in our nations, and consequently I expect the level of political and social unrest to rise considerably…. if beef prices double again, I’m gunna start considering joining the next anti-lock down protests.

Ah yes. I was the same until ISIS came along along. I couldn’t understand the grotesque horror they perpetrated in the name of Islam, while others said “they’re hijacking a beautiful and peaceful religion”.
Like everybody else I thought Islam was just a variant of Christianity. Love thy neighbour etc, but there must be something there to enable this hijacking.
It only took me about half an hour of reading bits of the Koran to realise what a shop of horrors it is.
Islam is a vile socio-political ideology espousing racism, sexism, incest, violence and world domination. It is a fundamentally stupid set of ideas followed by people who are evil, stupid or both.
There will never be peace with Islam because the religion says if you’re not a Muslim you can convert, become a dhimmi, or be killed. Either it will take over the entire world or be exterminated. Hopefully the latter.
Koran has similarities with another Holy book and it is also similar to the Old Testimony which is used to layout the grounds which ked to the New Testimony.
But it is offensive to draw such parallels under pressure form reductio ad holocaustum fallacy.

What it also demonstrates is most people don’t think and simply believe and repeat what they are told.
In a disagreement about mandatory vaccination being required to protect businesses from liability if someone catches covid I pointed out what happens if you catch something else there, and got the response “like what?” as though it’s the only disease that exists.

there is a reasonable chance that on the other side of this panic, people will choose to spend significantly less on cafes and bars and other crap retail (after a bit of a bounce initially due to pent up demand).
Retail especially is posed to get a hard hit because the one draw card of b&m stores has been the ability to see/touch/take home today…. But now everyone’s gotten used to placing an order (sight unseen, thing untouched) and waiting a week or two for delivery (rather than getting it immediately). So can just as happily order from China or wherever will save a few Bob.
But so what? Will we see everyone just working less in the bullshit jobs and enjoying the same quality of life? ZzzI reckon that, in the EZFKA, the reduction in spend on all this stuff that has proved to be unnecessary will be redirected into the one thing that is necessary – housing. As the cafes and shit shut up shop, shacks should shoot up some more.
the fact that the shutting shops will prompt the RBA to drop teh rates some more should help, as well.
Most of most peoples expenses are housing, or at least enough that they actually do need to work to pay for it.
Firstly because people busy working don’t have time to think about inequality and other big picture issues, and secondly because we gotta keep making the rich richer.
Beyond food and shelter you don’t NEED anything but a lot of people want more though.
