The biggest Dildo in Crypto: Part 3

It is with great pleasure that I announce the formal arrest of Sam Bank-Friendman pending his extradition to the United States, who have formally applied for it today in the Bahamas. It also effectively closes the circle in terms of the SBF case study, and speculation around the toxic role he has played in crypto. From now on in it is just due process, and no doubt jaw dropping examples of hubris and outright fraudulent thievery.

Before getting to the news, let me perform a gloating recap of my heterodox distain for SBF, while all the world breathed in his farts and called them sweet lavender.

In Part 1 being, “Crypto Lending and why you should stay the fuck away from it…” we made this prophecy:

“Then traders based in the Bahamas will simply disappear, Celcius’s rehypothication and collateral lending schemes will implode the moment the SHTF and BTC drops 80%, becoming insolvent in a flash. Losses will then flow back down the line until the eventual bag holder, the mug punter Hodler cops it in the nuts.”

– Stewie

Where we also identified the main players of malfeasance in this crypto lending debacle:

So who are the “Wolves of Wallstreet” in this game? Well unsurprisingly one of Celcius’s main founding investors was ‘Tether’. Another ‘investor’ heavily involved in this space is FTX which is a Bahamian based crypto exchange owned by Sam Bankman-Fried…. who along with quantitative trading firms like Cumberland Trading and Alameda Research (which is also owned by Sam Bankman-Fried) would also be one of the main “Investors” borrowing these BTC.

– Stewie

In Part 2, Three Arrows Capital, I looked at the fall out of Three Arrow’s Capital and Celsius’s collapse where I was probably too kind in my assessment of Sam’s chances:

Consequently traders like 3AC and FTX went tits long on this trade, with crypto lending firms like Celsius and BlockFi loaning them the fuck loads of ETH to do this trade. FTX is probably gunna get out of it okay, as they have the ability to sodomise their trader’s stop losses and clear them out, [Stewie: wrong about FTX being okay, but 100% on the money about their traders’s being sodomized by SBF] while trading against them from their unregulated exchanges based in the Bahamas. Twitter is currently full of FTX traders who’ve used any form of leverage being arse raped by Sam. However the issue presents a huge problem for 3AC who doesn’t have such nefarious means of making back their collateral.

– Stewie

In Part 3, The Biggest Dildo in Crypto, we pondered whether Sam was really capable of saving crypto:

“As I said, this is essentially a liquidity crisis within crypto – honestly not that too far removed from what happened in 2008…. In the 2008 crash the market was ‘saved’ by the liquidity providers i.e. Reserve Banks (mainly the Fed) coming in and saving the system, and to be frank imho that is the only thing that will stop the Doom loop in crypto – liquidity providers coming in and saving the system.

Who are the liquidity providers in crypto? Alameda Research (FTX and Sam) and Cumberland Capital (a group started by a trader who had been banned and fined by the SEC in US markets), neither of which are confidence inspiring in the best of circumstances….given the redemptions occurring in Tether and their hesitation or incapability of turning the printers back on, it is highly doubtful imho that Alameda or Cumberland will be spending $1 of fiat to defend the crypto complex.

There might be some more crypto chicanery and financial engineering to hold off the collapse off for a little while, but imho it will only slow or slightly delay the inevitable. Without the Tether printers being turned back on, I see BTC below $5k before I see it going above $50k.”

– Stewie

While in Part 4 we observed the real time collapse of FTX with ‘The biggest Dildo in Crypto: Part 2” that confirmed our suspicions aired earlier:

“So SBF went balls deep into Voyager and the whole 3AC, and while initially acclaimed as the saviour of crypto what he was doing was becoming stuck to beasts already trapped within the bottomless tar pit that stretched back to Luna’s implosion and the daisy chain of disasters that followed.”

– Stewie

Today we effectively conclude our study of SBF with this news released today:

“As a result of the notification received and the material provided therewith, it was deemed appropriate for the Attorney General to seek SBF’s arrest and hold him in custody pursuant to our nation’s Extradition Act.

At such time as a formal request for extradition is made, The Bahamas intends to process it promptly, pursuant to Bahamian law and its treaty obligations with the United States.”

His donations won’t save him. He fucked up royally when the moment FTX collapsed he didn’t jump on his private Jet and fly to Israel to perform Aliyah.

Anyhow everything that happens from now on in will simply be a matter of observing due process. I think the more pertinent question is now – “Who Next?

– It was surprising hard to find a meme of CZ behind bars, so I had to make one of some anonymous, generic looking Chinese guy.

U.S prosecutors are considering criminal charges against crypto exchange Binance and individual executives, including founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao, Reuters reported, citing two people.

The Department of Justice has also discussed possible plea deals with Binance’s lawyers, the report added.

https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/12/12/us-prosecutors-look-to-charge-binance-and-cz-for-possible-money-laundering-violations-reuters/

Anyone who has coins sitting with these offshore, un-regulated exchanges, or their mainland affiliates is asking for trouble. If you do have crypto, self custody is probably the safest place to be right at the moment. The vast majority will still end up utterly worthless, but at least it won’t have been rehypothecated away.

Who are the liquidity providers in crypto? Alameda Research (FTX and Sam)

And yet with Sam in jail, the fastest interest rate rises in history, CZ turning on everybody, the price hasn’t moved in a month

weve had $500m of tether prints the last couple of weeks

The sort of transactions and business models that don’t exist in the world atm because until now it wasn’t feasible to do. It was transactions of less than a dollar, of less than a cent, of less than a 1/10th of cent,of less than 1/100th of a cent of less than 1/1000th of a cent

Boring, boring, boring mind melting boring shit – like writing log files, of on API paying a commission to another API for the use of code or minutes of processing time, of repaying a photocopier lease on a per use basis, of tolling vehicles on road networks at a micro use level.

I keep disagreeing with this.

I just can’t see why something like 1c transactions (let alone 0.01c transactions) need something that is trustless and decentralised.

stuff that is such low value just doesn’t need the benefits provided by blockchain (cf regular money or database)

all these low value things might as well get aggregated until it’s $10 or more and transacted over regular network.

eg, photocopier can charge per 5,000 sheets, rather than per single sheet. Charge for 10-hour blocks of processing time, rather than seconds, etc.

it’s the realpolitik mate.
by the looks of it:

  1. “breaking and entering” likely occurred and was possibly non consensual
  2. consent circumventing substances were used by both sides
  3. use of one of those substances obviously don’t count when used by all genders different from “M”
  4. political fallout from conviction would be a dear price to pay (in non-fiat currency or in barbaric relics) hence a management ensued
  5. the deal is: “case dismissed as groundless but you get what you want”
  6. ezfka units, particularly of the convict class go about sayin’ how this is another win for wrongly accused “rapist gender”
  7. same convict class cannot believe when what should’ve been an even dismantling the rotten establishment ends up to be a lien on their taxes which will finance someone’s easy life
  8. no convict class of ezfka units can comprehend that it is quite plausible that the rapist and rapee may have duped them and are sharing the proceeds…

yippee yeay!

It’s believed the original claim included $2.5 million for future economic loss, past economic loss, general damages of future assistance with at-home care and past and future out-of-pocket expenses of a further $150,000.

But at the request of Ms Higgins, the actual cash amount agreed to by the Commonwealth will remain a secret.

A fly in your ointment

Apparently there is a keyboard shortcut that equates to “premature posticulation” and the post can go off prematurely. At my age… it happened already 4-5 times since this morning.

Was going to say that the usual convict class of ezfka units will likely think that the actual amount is lower than indicated and within reasonable vicinity… where in fact it could also be 2x or 10x as much and that the narrated sums are likely a decoy.

LSWCHP

I was wondering the same thing. The media descriptions of “hails of bullets” made me think semiauto, but you can achieve almost the same rate of fire with a lever gun (which is why I have a lever gun). So, excluding semiauto, very probably lever action shotguns and rifles, in which case 30-30 or a pistol chambering like .357 or .44 Magnum.

Of course, what the media reports and reality are nearly always different, so possibly just a couple of bolt action rifles and a shotgun, in which case .223 or .308.

I hope we get to find out.

bigduke6

Apparently one rifle then they took their pistols.
That’ll be enough for the police unions to demand more gun controls.

LSWCHP

Well, that would have to be the dumbest, most poorly planned and executed ambush in the entire history of ambushes then. I wonder where the hail of bullets came from?

I’ve always thought that amateur terrorists need much better training and planning. The damned muslims always flail around with their knives and blaze away pointlessly with their guns and end up killing two people, if that. If I was gonna put on a massacre (which I have no intention of doing, by the way) the casualties would be in the hundreds.

I don’t think that Sam has the right combination of factors to stay out of jail.

ThePensum

Nah. He should have gotten away with it, but:

  1. It has been very high profile.
  2. He hasn’t shut up in the past few weeks, which kept it in the press and high profile.
  3. He’s embarrassed the law makers as he made so many large donations.
  4. He’s also embarrassed the big investment houses that backed him (ie Sequoia etc).
  5. Also Turkey and Cyprus regulators started going after him – so the SEC etc couldn’t look bad by not doing anything.

I reckon if he hunkered down, and polliticked behind the scenes he might have had a chance. Or ffs at least leave the Bahamas so he could get sent to what, a better prison in the US?

Drago

Wasn’t the arrest triggered by the realisation that he was going to testify next week before Congress?

Different scenario would have allowed him to freestyle his ‘testimony’, be asked totally different questions and therefore give different answers, open up to lines of further enquiry, name names, etc. not otherwise possible or likely in a court scenario.

That’s what some in the MSM are saying anyway.

The suggestion is that DOJ have only arrested him to limit the damage.

He’ll get fucked now, thrown to the media wolves, with the Democrats and its other actors slinking off without a scratch.

Yeah he writes a good article and it is not going to change anything. As much as some people complain about mass immigration, there is not enough people voting to change it. We have deindustrialised into a service economy that effectively functions due to mass immigration. People are voting with their wallets. Victoria’s big build is for mass immigration and construction employs 10% of the workforce. Most other jobs in Victoria benefit from mass immigration, do you think Victorians will vote against it?

makes a lot of sense to do this

As they point out – the Fed can’t control supply factors

By increasing interest rates into a supply problem, they make it harder for investment in increasing productive capacity

Which actually makes supply worse

And therefore makes inflation worse

Ramjet

Except things like food is controlled by 11 companies who can raise their prices:

I don’t buy the supply chain issues. Plus we don’t invest in productive capacity, the cheap money went into housing and share buybacks.

right the problem is where the money is directed, not how much it costs

its too expensive for investment into productive capacity
and too cheap for existing housing and personal consumption

this is nothing to do with RBA/federal reserve

Its APRA and the banks that are to blame

Peachy

right the problem is where the money is directed, not how much it costs

Correct – indeed just the other day we published a report that demonstrates that free money (in the form of TFF) didn’t create any business lending, but all went to housing:

The Term Funding Facility: Has It Encouraged Business Lending?

https://www.rba.gov.au/publications/rdp/2022/2022-07.html

this is nothing to do with RBA/federal reserve

Its APRA and the banks that are to blame

This is oversimplifying things.

Of course there is blame if your drop rates/print money/etc when you know (as we do) that almost all of the credit that will be created will go to housing.

RBA could easily have said that they won’t drop the rates until lending mix is adjusted in a way they consider is more conducive to “financial stability”. But they didn’t.

of course, this is partly how the EZFKAROFL (EZFKA responsibility obfuscation & fuzziness layer) is designed to operate.

But that’s the catch 22. Business lending carries the risk of a default (the very opposite of the desired target) and carries a much lower predictability whereas housing is the love child and is cuddly, soft, gentle and…. most importantly…. zero risk. Because of 7 years principle….

I heard QLD cops pointed the mainstream media to it then when they’d all watched it they had it shut down. Some MSM have been told they can show stills, just grainy crap that won’t hurt anyone but lets them hammer the ‘conspiracy theory’ nutters are all potential mass murderers, anti jab means conspiracy theory, etc. They had maybe a 308 rifle, hence why the “hail of bullets” bull hasn’t been matched by any evidence of Semi autos, no witness mentioned anything but pops (single shot).

Same reason there is so much in the MSM, QLD police media are in over drive, they’re loving this. All power back to the ALP and cops to take back freedoms again, guns are first.

The guys were fruitcakes, but are now the patsy they were complaining about.

Peachy

They had maybe a 308 rifle, hence why the “hail of bullets” bull hasn’t been matched by any evidence of Semi autos, no witness mentioned anything but pops (single shot).

A 308 rifle is quite serious firepower, isn’t it?

i imagine that bulletproof vests that regular police wear aren’t designed to protect against such rifle bullets (and don’t). And they’d only be good against pistol rounds.

so the reports that those folks grabbed the pistols off the murdered police are bit strange, in that they’d be downgrading their firepower… no?

maybe it doesn’t matter because the swat type blokes that arrived later would have had better body armour anyway…

Last edited 1 year ago by Peachy
Drago

308’s are pretty common for deer hunting in Victoria, yes they’re very solid stoppers but don’t buy the media hysteria (who think any projectile is murder). Longer range single shot stuff. They are being used in the Vic High Country all in perfect safety by responsible adults, but you’d be very sore if you use one more than a few times in a short space of time. Give me a 22 for foxes and bunnies anyday.

SOG wouldn’t take kindly to their GIJoe car copping 4 holes in the windscreen though. You have to ask why these untrained people (teacher, nurse?) even got close to the SOG like that. Poor planning or over confident?

Make no mistake. These Train guys were total dicks, no one will miss them. In a perfect world they’d just be a dhead ranting online without threat, now they’re going to inadvertently hand our freedoms over to the left wing Cucks and assorted power hungry fwits.

LSWCHP

The .308 (aka 7.62 Nato) was the standard Australian military service round for about 30 years, and is still used in the general purpose machine gun role. It’s very powerful. It’ll go through a foot thick tree, or through a brick wall with ease. It has enough energy to kill people at ranges out to 3000m+.

That being said, most users of bolt action rifles aren’t all that adept at cycling the action, so even working at top speed the rate of fire is about 12-15 rounds per minute. Also, most civilian hunting rifles have 5 round magazines, so a lengthy reload is required after each 5 shots, which reduces the effective rate of fire even further.

Rate of fire is as important as weight of fire when considering fire power.

Overall, the “hail of bullets” narrative isn’t credible.

Once they had the pistols off the dead officers they would have had far less powerful weapons (9mm parabellum I think in QLD) but with a far higher rate of fire. A skilled marksman can put 10 rounds into a man sized target at 25m in about 5 seconds with a gun like that. They could’ve definitely put a lot of rounds downrange in a short time with the cop guns, which would’ve been a daunting prospect for the response crew.

Using various fuck ups of his (and even things that weren’t his fuck up like brittany Higgins) and trying to paint them as some kind of demonic threat to democracy and gays/refugees/women etc

Probably just copying the USA Democrats handling of trump

Basically using him to fortify the resolve of their voters, and tar all Republicans/LNP as being lunatic incompetent god botherers

stagmal

his personality seems to play into it, but i dont find him to be that loathesome, nowhere near commensurate to the reaction he seems to elicit

trump i understand, but scomo is just a doofus

Coming

its just the ALP trying to make it happen, and our media isn’t really as effective

normal people don’t really care, just those living in the Crikey/twitter bubble

hence why you don’t care

Well Libs are getting wiped out everywhere, Dutton has an 18% approval rating, I don’t think this resulted from an overload of ScoMo love.

Gouda

To me Morrison always came across as being a bit thick, so would always win votes with blokey middle EZFKA class due to just not being too threatening or coming across as too intellectual (eg. Rudd). Those not paying much attention would probably just have considered him a safe pair of hands as is standard for the LNP, and maybe that was always the strategy.

But I think that all started to change after the bushfires and that Hawaii holiday, and that rolled into the start of the pandemic which smashed his approval rating. Normally a crisis allows leaders to shine, but just like how Bush Jr flubbed the Hurricane Katrina response, Morrison was found lacking on both occasions.

We all know that politicians will always cop a hiding from the other side, especially the more extreme end. But what always surprised me with Morrison was where some of the most vocal voices against him came from. At a function last year our hospital CEO and owners were openly critical of Morrison. Somehow the Liberals were managing to lose core voters on high incomes with millionaire investment properties and asset portfolios. These guys would never vote for Labor, but there was an alternative and people were talking about Teals and independents.

I don’t think one can claim that normal people don’t have a problem with him, as he was supposedly so unpopular that Liberal MPs didn’t want him campaigning with them in Victoria during the federal election and he was also banned from visiting SA during their state election. That of course came after calling WA “cave people,” backing the Clive Palmer lawsuit against the popular border bans and the state election which saw the Liberals whittled down to 2 seats.

Then again, even his own party think he’s a bit shit – but were probably prepared to put up with him so long as he was winning.

i know the fire thing was sh1t to a lot of people but i personally did not care

the whole thing was an issue of pure optics as opposed to something that had any practical real world effect on anyone

him getting raked over the coals over the brit higgins thing was just pure and absolute political sleaze, plain and simple, but he made it worse by caving to her and apologising in parliament

he should have told her to go and get fucked

Dutton’s approval rating is determined by scomos popularity ?

duttons approval rating more likely due to the fact that he’s a retarded ex cop who looks and acts like Voldemort

Yes mate, I believe the previous leader’s popularity and record probably does influence the popularity of the successor, since they’re from the same political party and were mates.

But go on believing the silent majority coincidentally thinks the same as you on every topic.

stagmal

coming and you are both right at the same time imo

dutton is unelectable by default. the libs have fucked themselves making him leader

its 80% his face/personality and 20% scomo

but at the same time scomo was definitely grating to a lot of people

He was grating to people who were never going to vote lnp

then the alp tried and succeeded in making him grating to women by manufacturing the Brittany Higgins lie

then secretly paid her millions of dollars from the public purse in a confidential deal

yes Dutton is absolutely unelectable even if Jesus Christ himself was the former leader

Drago

He really needs to disappear, constantly smirking to the media at meaningless events is like absolute free crack for Lefties (of which make up 90% of the media). He’s a dog with Rabies that just needs putting out of everyone’s misery. If he stays he’ll guarantee Albo and easy victory next time.

whats the corresponding inflation rate though

Chuckmuscle

And inflation is 7.3%… demand driven inflation, roflmao.
Rate rises won’t fix shit, just make the depression worse.
AFAIK, no one on this website was calling for lockdowns, but those cucks over at the other site like DLS, sweeper, smithy, robot and Dennis have all this inflation on their hands

Yes of course it was

the worst single policy decision in human history

unless stagmal can tell us about some other historical blunder that was worse (hitler invading russia ?)

but really I don’t think so – this has been enacted across nearly the entire world to an extent that no other policy has

LSWCHP

Sweeper, smithy and dennis are three of the most stupid, cowardly, effeminate, aggressive imbeciles I’ve ever run across in one place in my entire life.

Authoritarian idiots, demanding enforced vaccination and jail for anybody who disagreed with them. I well understand how Hitler’s Germany happened. There’s a lot of weak little men out there, lusting for the opportunity to force their will on others, and those three exemplified that malevolent force.

The good news is, I’m pretty sure they’re all at least triple vaxxed, so they’ll be dead soon.

Aussie Soy Boy

Why do they keep writing articles about this girl that died in Bali. As if it was some botched dental procedure. Sounds like a routine case of SADS which happens everyday in Australia who give a shit.

The scourge of meth is to blame for those QLD cop shooters more than anything. I don’t know why they are blaming opposition to lock downs for a cough or opposition to mandates.

Agree it’s stacked with Lib mates, but do you honestly reckon the new AG Mark Dufus is going to do anything different? I’ve met Dufus in a private capacity and he’s a horrible little man with a massive ego. Hates the average EFKA coupon holder.

The ALP love nothing more than committees stacked with mates on cushy salaries getting a chance to ‘interpret’ their progressive doctrines on us.

Come on, it’ll be full of more Labor and leftard luvvies than an inner city Council.

The idea of a “vaccine” that modified your own cells to produce a component of a virus was more than Frankensteinly insane enough that I vowed never to let it near me. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard of, and almost everybody just seemed to swallow it without question.

It seemed blindingly obvious to me that there would be a risk that ones own immune system would start attacking the cells producing the virus components, resulting in debilitating autoimmune diseases and death. This seems to be whats happening.

It’s been a giant fuckup, and I’ve never once regretted my choice to be unjabbed.

Coming

You realise that viruses do exactly the same thing that mrna vaccines do right ?

they infect the body’s cells and use them to replicate more copies

that’s exactly what the AZ vaccine was – just a modified adenovirus

probably why the jab and virus side effects are identical

Which is why if you’re going to become an outcast from society in order to avoid the vaccine

it’s only logical you should have done the same to avoid the virus

In my case, I realised the risk from either was minimal
and not worth destroying my life for in either case

A fly in your ointment

I realised the risk from either was minimal

and not worth destroying my life for in either case

I can understand that one may perceive the risk from Emma Renay as low, the telly and the newsdotcomau said so, but if the risk from either was minimal, why bend over a chair with your knickers down whilst Brad Hazard and Dan Andrews are coming in with a bucket of Vaseline? Why were survivors compelled with a barrel at their temple to still jabbafabba? Ever wonder what makes people not want the injectable protection from a vile deadly-as-the-novichok virus?

Coming

I don’t really understand your question

I complied with mandates because otherwise I’d lose my job

why would I throw away my hard earned career for a 1 in 100,000 risk ?

any side effect you can identify from the jab is the same as side effects from the virus – they function in much the same way

Were you scared of catching Covid too?
lock yourself away and mask up ?

if not, why were you so scared of one and not the other

LSWCHP

You’re too stupid to waste my time on. Please go away. Don’t come back.

Convict class of ezfka units will obey anything for a tap on the shoulder by Warden class Australians. Throw in a bit of power over other convict class or particularly power over ezfka units of later days or adventing ezfka units and the transmogrification is instant

Not much to see. What’s their beef though? I was there once 15yrs ago and they’d been fucked over in an oil dispute with Bolivia and kicked off with riots etc. Getting out on a bus ride was interesting, glad I took the tip not to sit on a window, US backpacker not so smart but lucky to just cop some glass and scratches. Aussie Soy Boy

You have to laugh about Aussies (not really Aussies most of them swarthy looking n*****s) growing some balls over where a soccer match is being held in an entirely and utterly pointless and meaningless fourth rate league.

Then the cops were a good three minutes late to the scene, the minimum wage lebo security guards had already shepherded them off the field.

If they were people laying on the beach during lockdown I’m sure the pigs would have been there quick smart to kick their heads in.

Drago

Vic Pol, too scared to rein in a bunch of 16 year old boys. It’s funny because I was there a few weeks ago and were plenty of cops near the Northern terrace in a nothing game. This protest and fan anger had been hyped all week. Genuinely the median age in those fans is 16.

Vic Pol can’t even imagine doing stuff like going face to face with Bikies, way too shit scared for that.

The guy’s a complete spaz, and the MSM want to portray him as this ruthless trained killer.

Loaded with guns? Had a peashooter. What does Loaded with mean, or are they just hyping it up with no knowledge?

Military knives? Anaconda home brand bottle opener.

The only thing the MSM shill got right was the fact the cops walked straight past. Nothing to see here.

Hopefully the farmer who raised the issue (which police were too lazy to investigate) gets to keep the guy’s $100k+ 4WD…
