I don’t have anything to say, just completely black pilled by how quickly our Politicians are jumping to enact laws that crack down on criticism of Zionists, Jews and Israel… last weeks atrocity in Bondi plays so well into the Zionists hands that I really want to see who paid for all the receipts this pair of Father and Son Jihadists ran up over the past 5 years.
Well my Polymarkets study is continuing – this was my comment made at the end of Nov:
Closed all the +120ks & +110ks, now just have the No won’t hit 100ks which I’ve added to, as well as some risker positions outside the scope of what I originally discussed. Closed the speculative Yes’s around 80k and decided I need to reduce the size of future allocations towards “speculatives” – all fun and the overall trades have still be positive in total.
Of interest elsewhere, the more I look at the markets the more fun I am having trying to identify arbs. One of the ones that I’ve discovered is the “Will the US and Venezuala armed forces come into conflict” which has a series of contracts out into the future.
What I’ve found is that it is possible to hedge front “No” contracts which seem to be paying more than they should, with “Yes” contracts sitting in March, essentially I can hedge my capital (bet) with only profits at risk in the event my front bet losses and my back bet wins.
You would think that the time value of money and the equivalency of risk would hold, what I’ve found is that the front contracts appear to consistently paying a higher rate than they should.
The back bet is paying 51%, which is a daily implied rate of around 0.52% (0.43% compounding), where as the front bet is paying the equivalent of 0.95% (0.87% compounding)… while the contract 2 weeks later is paying back near 0.84% (0.73 compounding)… imho a positive spread should not exist.
Using the March Contracts daily probability of excise of 0.43% then the front January contract should be only paying around 11% as a “No” instead it is paying 21%. Flipping it and using the Jan contract to price the risk of March would have a 137% chance of the conflict occurring, instead of a 50/50 as is currently priced. This 10% spread, between 11% and 21% is the equivalent of 46% annualised risk free.
The only thing I can think that could be behind it is that the market is being manipulated in order to keep the pressure on Maduro – it is well known that Polymarkets is becoming a quoted ‘source’ of the risk of something occurring, and I have come to believe that it is the only explanation for the distortion I see. Maybe there is money to be made from the CIA?
Anyhow, if anyone else is playing around with it tell me what you think. I am not sure what I am missing here, as the worst case for me is that some of my profits evaporate if either there is an armed conflict or Manduro runs away, meanwhile I am earning unreasonable spreads at the front that crystalize every two weeks.

My strategy worked well – in fact, on a surprising dip in the likelihood of the US attacking Venezuela yesterday I actually sold most of my No’s with the intention of repurchasing when they blew out again.
I held onto my Yes Hedge, as there was little sudden long tail down risk with holding the hedge, only positive, so the only issue with selling the No’es to look for a more attractive re-entry, while still holding the Yes hedges was some negative carry.
Unfortunately some new contracts became available this morning and I looked at rolling my Yes hedge from the 31st of March to the 30 June, so I placed a sale for my March Yes’s and had a buy in for the June Yes’s, so of course my Marches sold while I didn’t get to buy the Junes.
So net net I was largely square, while earning some good carry. Real shame I’d placed sell on my hedge this morning before aquiring the new contract, otherwise I would have been up 10% instead of 3%.
I’ve since purchased some very speculative “No – To will US Forces be in Venezuala by 31 Jan, and some less speculative “No – to Will the US Invade Venezuala by 31 Jan”.
Not as good a month as Nov, as only up 6% – took a foolish position on the BTC price, which was mainly foolish in being a tad too large… got to work on my position sizes and risk more as it is very easy to undo lots of good work.
Also I was running naked on the No’es over November, while I started to hedge them in December which reduced my carry. Anyhow, will stick with it a while longer.
Well the specky “No – To will US Forces be in Venezuala by 31 Jan” lost, but made way more on the “No – to Will the US Invade Venezuala by 31 Jan” which I have now sold. All in all this has been a fairly good set of trades. The BTC trades I put on as a result of commentbots jibing were all sold in profit, apart from a couple ultra speckies that failed. Only a subsequent outsized bearish bet on BTC hitting 86k took the shine out of the monthly return, although this quick trade with the Invasion has made up a fair part of it.

The last trade was pure luck in terms of the timing, as was a fair degree of the remainder of my positioning at the time. There was an interesting ZH article today that speculated on some insider trading in Polymarkets in respect of unusual bets:

That said I don’t necessarily think that the ZH conspiracy on insider trading may necessarily be correct, there are plenty of big bettors on Polymarkets who are aware that they have large prediction followings, so they will often set up single use accounts, in order to avoid tipping off the wider public as to their own thoughts.
I still stand by my assertion that I believe the US was actively manipulating the prediction markets to increase the perceived likelihood of threat to Venezuela (which Manduro was too stupid to pick up on), and still believe that the lows that I sold into was actually a result of them exiting their position – it WOULD be a scandal if it was subsequently revealed that US Govt and agencies profited on bets that they would go to war.
There are much, much smarter people and pattern recognisers than me, and I actually think it is more likely that it was someone like myself who noticed the illogical odds that were on offer… imho the one strike prediction odds should always be positive sloping on a daily basis.
The lows that they quote in the article were the same lows that I saw as aberrations worth selling into – if I noticed it, I’m sure smarter people than I understood the implications.
The ZH article mentions someone who did the ole “How busy is Domino Pizza’s” app to suspect the game was on when they saw a spike in pizza orders, not included in the ZH article was another indicator as to whether activity was on at the Department of Defense…. the gay bars were less busy than usual! lol

Well it has certainly been an interesting experiment, since I started I am up about 25%, earning on average 0.3% per day, and making on average 5% on each bet… never a truer statement of getting rich slowly lol. Three months has been a reasonable test period, but the risk of it just being variance is something that I’m still very conscious of.
I’ll continue my investigations and playing around with Polymarkets but I’ll refrain from boring everyone with my esoteric insights, as all the positions I have discussed until now have now ended.

I went to two services, both at friends’ free independent churches. In recent years, preachers I’ve seen at Christmas seem to stray off target and end up talking more about the end of Jesus’ life (the crucifixion and resurrection) than his birth. Perhaps it reflects the decline of reading and English lit teaching and learning: these guys need to learn the value of a cliffhanger ending.
Also, formerly anglo churches, just like our states, have become too multicultural. Every city has greek, chinese, korean, and other churches which exist to maintain a separate ethnic identity. Seldom are serious objections voiced, but if a specifically Anglo church were to start you can bet there would be plenty of commentary.
Also, some churches emphasize universal love. It’s an appealing message. However, I don’t think that is the christian message.

I think it’s possible. If rents start dropping, eg due to rising unemployment due to AI, and interest rates start increasing as forecast due to inflation, then investors will bail and FHB numbers will shrink.
Even if “investors” flee and prices begin to soften, FHB lure becomes exponential.
The only thing that will kill the market is absence of finance. So, not the pricess, not the interest rates and vacancies are so easy to fix by adding a few more daily flights from China and India.
